David Caputo

Enlisted Air Force in 1968 right after graduation. Received orders to Bien Hoa
Air Base, Vietnam in 1969. Met my future wife there and stayed in Vietnam, having been reassigned to Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Saigon, Vietnam in 1970. Departed Vietnam with my wife, Phu, and daughter, Jennifer (born 1971) in 1972. Stayed in Air Force Reserve until 2001. Total 33 years. Worked for Dept of Defense as civilian, then transferred to US Postal Service. Retired USPS in 2012 after 33 years total federal service.

Mrs Paravati, 8th grade English, asked for homework to be passed forward. Leo told her he forgot and would do it tommorrow, but Mrs Paravati told him he was to get an "F". Next row a female student also forgot her homework and Mrs Paravati permitted her to do it tommorrow. Leo mumbled a complaint and Mrs P. heard him. She asked him restate his complaint, to which he was reluctant. Upon hearing his complaint she left the classroom while instructing Leo to "come with me". In a few moments we heard paddle smacks and screams. Mr German, the Principal, returned, sobbing Leo by the collar and a paddle in his other hand. He asked if Leo wanted to be a wise guy again. (Those of you who were there must remember this and can you imagine such responce in today's classroom?)
